PSG suffer heaviest league defeat in 19 years as Drake curse strikes again

Paris Saint-Germain emerged the latest victim of the ‘Drake Curse’ after suffering a 5-1 bashing against Lille in a Ligue 1 cracker on Sunday, April 14.
According to UK Sun report, the performance saw the Parisians suffer their heaviest league defeat in 19 years, with clubs fans unhappy after Layvin Kurzawa’s selfie with the Canadian rapper Drake emerged on social media before the game.
At the last count, it has been a gloomy sign for Arsenal and Man City after losing two vital games, days after their stars were pictured with the Canadian artist.
Arsenal were handed a 1-0 defeat at Everton days after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was cited in company of Drake during his show at the O2.
Days later, City’s Sergio Aguero missed from the spot in their 1-0 Champions League defeat to Tottenham after he was spotted taking a selfie with the rapper.
However, PSG’s Kurzawa failed to learn from their mistakes, with the PSG defender posing for a photo with Drake early last week.
But on Sunday, April 14, few days after Kurzawa’s selfie, star-studded PSG were humiliated by second-placed Lille.
The Parisians were just a win away from defending the Ligue 1 title, but have not suffered such a heavy defeat since 2000, when Sedan netted five goals against them.
Thomas Meunier netted an own goal to see Lille go 1-0 up after seven minutes of action.
Juan Bernat restored parity for PSG after four minutes before he was sent parking before the end of the first half.
However, Nicolas Pepe’s performance in the second stanza helped Lille claim the win over PSG, with Jose Fonte netting the fifth goal six minutes from duration.
Meanwhile, Drake is expected in Amsterdam for a three-day gig, starting from April 23.
