DJ SLY BIOGRAPHY

Gideon Alorgbey, known professionally as DJ Sly the Unstoppable, is a successful music and nightlife entertainment curator in Ghana, Africa.  He specializes in thrilling global audiences by spinning different genres of music to include Hiplife, Highlife, AfroBeats, Hip Hop, R&B, House, Dancehall, and Francophone.  He also owns the UDS Music record label.

While DJ Sly’s passion for music is evident, in his early days as a DJ, he was driven by a promise he made to his mother to pursue his education.  After graduating with distinction from Ada Senior High Technical School, DJ Sly studied Marketing at Accra Technical University and took courses in Radio and Television Broadcasting to help polish his craft.

In 2015, DJ Sly launched his first project, a dancehall song titled “Turn Up Rhythmz” which featured BET Award-winning artiste, Stonebwoy.  In 2016, DJ Sly was signed by the leading Pan-African entertainment TV station, WatsUp TV as their official DJ and Host of Video Fusion.  With his creativity, the show made waves across the continent.

In 2017, DJ Sly launched his first single.  Since that time, he has released two studio albums and has collaborated with top musicians from across Africa, producing multiple hit songs for his fans.  DJ Sly’s most notable collaborations include Teni (Nigeria), Wendy Shay (Ghana), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Fameye (Ghana), Stonebwoy (Ghana), Skales (Nigeria), EL (Ghana), Daphne (Cameroon), Scientific (Liberia), Ckay (Nigeria), Flowking Stone (Ghana), Tinny (Ghana), Article Wan (Ghana), Dopenation (Ghana), Nina Ricchie (Ghana), Cheezy (Burkina Faso), and VVIP (Ghana).

In December 2018, DJ Sly made history by pulling over 30,000 fans to his first signature concert dubbed the “Unstoppable Day Concert,” hosted at the West Hills Mall.  

DJ Sly has received numerous accolades, including Student Favorite Event DJ of the Year (CBaze Awards 2018), Best Event DJ (Ghana DJ Awards 2019), Student Favorite DJ of the Year (CBaze Awards 2019), Youth DJ of the Year (Youth Excellence Awards 2019, 2020), Best DJ (Youth Eminence Awards 2020), Best DJ of the Year (Greater Accra Music Awards 2020), and many more.  In 2021, DJ Sly was nominated as Best African DJ by the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
